Massacre in the USA, 22 killed and 60 injured by gun attack. The author, trained

A serious incident occurred in the USA, where a person attacked with a weapon in Lewiston, Maine. As a result of the shooting, 22 people were killed, while 60 others are suspected of being injured. After the attack, the perpetrator, identified as Robert Card, fled and was wanted by the police. He is armed and for this reason the police have called on the citizens to lock themselves at home to avoid another massacre. Schools have also been closed and the police have asked citizens to provide any information for his capture.


The shooting began at 6:56 p.m. when Card walked into two locations in Maine City with an AR-15, Schemengees Bard and Grille Restaurant and Speratime Recreation. A restaurant and bowling alley filled with families who were celebrating a party for their children. Then he also attacked a Walmart supermarket. Robert began shooting at people, killing at least 22 and injuring about sixty. He then fled in a Subaru, taking the automatic with him. The car was found abandoned around half past eleven in the evening, in the nearby city of Lisbon.


President Biden was informed of the shooting during a state dinner with the Australian prime minister and has since begun following up on the situation, speaking with local authorities.

Card is 40 years old and part of the National Guard military reserve stationed in Saco, in the northern state of Maine. He lives in Boëdoin and is a weapons instructor. Footage captured by security cameras shows him bare-faced, wearing black pants and a brown shirt, pointing the rifle at the victims. The reasons for the attack are still unclear, but Card was treated for mental health problems last summer. He said he heard voices and therefore was entrusted with the care of specialists. If these circumstances were to be proven, it is a story that has been repeating itself for years in the United States of America, always in the same way. Crazy people decide to take their anger out on other human beings, for whatever reason, and manage to cause a large number of casualties because guns in America are so readily available.
