Montenegro, the attempt to form a new government fails

Attempts to form the new government of Montenegro fail. The parliamentary majority consisting of the pro-Russian Democratic Front, the Democrats and the URA Movement of Dritan Abazovic have not been able to find an agreement to form the new government to be led by Miograd Llekic.

It was Lekić himself, who said that the meeting between the representatives of the parties had failed to achieve the appointment of a new executive.

"I said that either there will be a serious government, or there won't be one at all. There will be no Government and let's leave it to the citizens to interpret for themselves who was serious", said Llekič.

At the end of December 2022, Miograd Llekic received the mandate from the parliament to form the new government. Dritan Abazovic's government has been in technical mandate since August last year, after signing the Basic Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
