Montenegro blocks Serbian television station "Informer" broadcasts for

The Montenegrin Agency for Audiovisual Media Services has banned the broadcasting of "TV Informer" in the territory of Montenegro for six months.

The Agency Council notes that the measure was taken in implementation of the law for violations of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television, which requires the latter to respect human dignity and fundamental human rights and prohibits content that spreads hatred, intolerance and discrimination.

The decision was made as a result of the broadcast of the documentary: "Referendum: A History of Invented Freedom" which was assessed as "part of a wider controversial model by this television" owned by the Serbian company "Insajder".

The agency has initiated proceedings against local media outlets, "Tv Adria" and "Tv Prva", which broadcast the same material.
