The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reacted to the situation in the North yesterday.

In a post on Facebook, Kurti announced that all the routes to the north of the country are free.

He emphasized that the mayor's visit to his place of work should be the most normal thing possible and that the building of the municipality is the place where citizens are served based on the law and the constitution.

Kurt's reaction :

Good morning dear citizens,

After their oath on Thursday, yesterday, the three mayors elected in the April 23 elections in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, had their first day of work.

The mayor going to his place of work should be the most normal thing possible. The facility of the municipality building is the place where citizens are served on the basis of the law and the constitution. It belongs to the Republic, that's why it was not taken yesterday and will not be taken any other day. We are aware and understand the concerns raised by our international partners.

But any other option would be a failure to fulfill the constitutional obligations of our Government towards the new presidents; it would be failure to fulfill the obligations and obligations of the new presidents towards the citizens of the Republic; and, it would make it impossible to provide basic municipal services to citizens.

Therefore, as the Prime Minister of all citizens, I invite everyone, especially the Serbian citizens of Kosovo, to cooperate with the new presidents and their cabinets, which will be multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-linguistic and multi- partisan. They are chosen and are not against anyone, but at the service of everyone.

I would like to thank the members of the Police of the Republic of Kosovo for their professional, state and defense of the rule of law.

They, as they testify every day, also proved yesterday, that they are ready to serve the order, the law of the Republic as professionals, fearless and dignified, in the affirmation of a multi-ethnic security environment, despite the severe conditions that caused the groups managed by the parapolitical structure in that part of the country. Law and order, democracy and free movement, security and peace, can and should go hand in hand.

We commit to these every day and meticulously. The roads in the north are all open and passable for citizens. Municipalities and mayors must work hard because we have a lot of work to do for the citizens. I wish you all a nice weekend!.
