A serious event shook Milan, Italy yesterday.

A 64-year-old in Paderno Dugnano, Sabina Ghirello, kept the mummified corpse of her 90-year-old mother in order to continue receiving her pension.

The serious event was discovered by the police, after they were looking for the documents of the deceased, who, according to what the girl had told her neighbors, would have been admitted to a clinic. Instead, officers found the elderly woman's body locked in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to the results of the autopsy, the 90-year-old Pasqualina died 6 months ago.

Pasqualina's body was found wrapped in cellophane and mummified. The death of the 90-year-old was never reported in the civil registry, while the police established that Ghirello had received the pension, the only source of living, in the account held together with her mother.
