Turkish media have recently shared the long-awaited footage of the National Fighter Aircraft, which is expected to replace the famous F-16.
It was the Minister of Defense Industry, Ismail Demir, who shared these images, which he accompanied with the caption:
"Our president is the one that our nation is waiting for with excitement and the world with curiosity, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The first images of our survival project, the National Fighter Jet, which was watched live for the first time! Well done to our engineers. This is our pride. Good luck".
The MMU will replace the F-16s, which are scheduled to be phased out by 2030 and by 2070. The MMU, the fifth-generation multi-role combat aircraft, can be used in both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. .
The design of the cockpit of the National fighter jet is being matured to minimize the pilot's workload, taking into account the skills and equipment required by the 5th generation fighter jets.
In the design process, a cockpit environment is developed that will enhance the pilot's situational awareness, taking into account the physical, cognitive, and environmental factors in which the pilot is located.
MMU's superior aerial dominance:
Increased range of air-to-air combat with new weapons;
Accurate and precise strike from internal high speed/supersonic weapon slots;
It offers enhanced combat power with artificial intelligence and central network support.
