A joint operation by the US Navy and Coast Guard led to the rescue of three sailors who had been missing on a small Pacific island for more than a week.
The three soldiers were tracked thanks to the writing "Help", which they had written while collecting palm leaves in the sand of the beach.
The writing was spotted by a US Navy P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft stationed in southern Japan involved in search operations.
The sailors had been searching since March 31 after they had gone fishing in Pikelot Atoll, part of the Micronesian archipelago.
