This is one of the horrific testimonies of one of the victims of the 48-year-old police officer David Carrick, who is accused of having committed 24 rapes in two decades.

The case has rocked London in the last few hours, as it triggered a flurry of redundancies in the Metropolitan Police.

A woman who spoke to authorities investigating Carrick but chose not to make a formal complaint has recounted her terrifying experience.

She said the officer used his status to threaten her, handcuffed her and boasted that he was a powerful man who guarded senior politicians.

The woman accused the police officer of raping her more than once, saying: "I would say no and then wake up with him on top of me."

He added that he was addicted to sex and alcohol, he started drinking at 7 in the morning after returning from work guarding high-ranking MPs.

Women who gave evidence to police said he told them: "I'm a police officer, you can trust me" as he showed them his police card.

Likewise, they showed how he dragged them into the shower by their hair, beat them with a belt and told them "you are my slave, you ****".

The 48-year-old found some of his victims on dating sites such as Tinder and Badoo, before arranging to meet them in bars and using his status as a police officer to gain their trust.

'Fun and charming'

Prosecutors said Carrick appeared 'fun, charming and charismatic' but was 'very manipulative' and 'very confident, almost to the point of being arrogant'.

In his first court appearance on October 4, 2021, the prosecutor said a search of the officer's electronic devices showed searches for "hard" pornography.

Carrick was suspended following his arrest and remanded in custody.

The 48-year-old inmate exercised control by paying for dinner and drinks so the women felt they owed him before isolating them from their friends and family.

He locked the women in a closet in his home, which police said was smaller than a dog crate, for hours without food, or forced them to clean the house naked.
