The Wagner group in the north of Kosovo? Here's what Vucic says

The President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, rejected the accusations made by Albnin Kurti, who said that there were members of the mercenary organization Wagner at the barricades in Kosovo.

He said that it is a malicious lie and that there were no members of Wagner in the north of Kosovo.

"It is a malicious lie that members of the Wagner group were at the barricades in Kosovo. Also, it is not right to invite Serbs to war in Ukraine, it is not right for us to suffer because we have accepted every person from the Russian Federation and because Russian is the mother tongue here and because we have not imposed sanctions. If we did that, it would be against our regulations," he said.

The Wagner Group, also known as PMC Wagner, is a Russian paramilitary organization. It is variously described as a private military company (PMC), a network of mercenaries or a de facto private army of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The group operates outside the law because private military contractors are officially banned in Russia. While the Wagner Group itself is not ideologically driven, various elements of Wagner have been associated with neo-Nazis and right-wing extremists.
