The United States and other allied countries helped Israel intercept missiles launched by Iran on Friday evening, two Israeli sources told CNN.
According to one of the sources, several other countries in the region also provided support for Israeli air defense, in a manner similar to their interventions during previous Iranian attacks on Israel.
Iran launched fewer than 100 ballistic missiles against Israel in two separate waves, said IDF spokeswoman General Effie Defrin, specifying that most of the missiles were intercepted by anti-aircraft guns or fell before entering Israeli territory.
"There are a limited number of impacts on buildings, some of which were caused by fragments from the interception" of the missiles, she said.
