Israel admits attack on ambulance: Hamas was using it to transport terrorists
Israel acknowledges the attack on the ambulance

"We hit an ambulance used by Hamas." This was the statement made by the Israeli army on Friday evening.

Confirmation of the attack comes after a number of ambulances were struck outside Al Shifa hospital in Gaza earlier today.

Videos that have gone viral online show panicked and bleeding people waiting to receive medical help from ambulances.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in particular that one of its planes hit an ambulance "which was identified as being used by a Hamas terrorist cell".

On the other hand, the Hamas health ministry in Gaza announced that dozens of people were killed and wounded in the bombing, which it blamed on Israel.

An IDF spokesman said a number of militants were killed, adding that they have "information proving that Hamas' modus operandi is to transport operators and weapons in ambulances."

The Israeli army spokesman added: “This area is a combat zone. Civilians in the area have been repeatedly told to move south for their own safety."

As a result of the bombings, it is believed that at least 13 people died and 26 others were injured.

A spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said the ambulance was in a medical convoy from the hospital, traveling to the Rafah border crossing, and had informed the International Committee of the Red Cross about the move.
