Conservative political commentators were the first to pick up the "Epstein Dossier" hours after US Attorney General Pam Bondi promised to release documents on pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, who sexually abused underage girls.

They have appeared at the White House with folders in their hands that read "Epstein Files, Phase 1."

The files were marked "declassified," but it remains unclear whether the information they contain was ever classified. Among those holding the files were political commentator Rogan O'Handley, also known as DC Draino, Chaya Raichik of "Libs of TikTok," Liz Wheeler, and blogger Cernovich.

Pam Bondi said Wednesday on Fox News that the documents would include flight logs and "a lot of names," although it was unclear whether there would be details that aren't already publicly known.

Epstein's crimes and connections to celebrities have long been a subject of public interest and media scrutiny. Over the years, thousands of pages of data have been released through lawsuits, his criminal records, public disclosures and Freedom of Information Act requests.

In January 2024, a court released a number of documents that had been collected as evidence in a lawsuit filed by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre. Much of the material, including transcripts of victims' interviews and old police reports, was already publicly available.

Epstein sexually abused children hundreds of times over more than a decade, exploiting vulnerable girls as young as 14. He killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial in his Manhattan jail cell.
