Tragic earthquake in Turkey/ 70 Albanians among the victims, the embassy does

70 Albanians have died as a result of the catastrophic earthquake in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, while three more in Hatay. This is what the chairman of the Association of Culture and Solidarity of Albanians, Evren Kaya, told KosovaPress. According to him, so far only one Albanian family has been brought out alive from the ruins.

He criticizes the Embassy of Kosovo in Turkey, saying that they are not helping the families affected by the earthquake. Evren Kaya, who says that they are traveling from Adana, says that they are receiving aid from several countries to help Albanians in Turkey.

It also shows that many of the Albanians living in these places affected by the earthquake are afraid to return to their homes.

" Now in Kahramanmaras 70 of us have died. Even in Hatay, three Albanian people have died. I saw them there on Facebook and I'm telling you what I heard.

Now for food it's not a problem, but to warm up because it's cold it's too much. The state is sending the stoves as much as it can, some who can't are notified, but we are also helping them as much as we can. The embassy has not asked us at all.

The telephone has not made us at all from Kosovo. I don't know what he came to Turkey for or what he came to Turkey for. This ambassador never asked me, only Avni Spahiu, Bekim Sejdiu, the mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxherri and all those who are mayors.

Only one person with his family escaped from the building and came out alive, four people came out... He is also in our village at the moment, as I am asking him something, he is starting to cry because his neighbor has died," said Kaya .

Two devastating earthquakes struck parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday. The main earthquake was followed by dozens of aftershocks. According to the latest information, more than 37,000 people have died and the number is expected to continue to rise.

Initially, the south of Turkey was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale and was felt in several countries in the region, and apart from people in Turkey, the most victims were in neighboring Syria.
