NATO has reacted after the attack on the EULEX patrol in the north of Kosovo.

The NATO spokesperson, Oana Lungescu, through a post on Twitter, condemns the attack. She writes that any such attack is unacceptable and that the perpetrators must be held accountable.

Oana Lungescu calls on the parties to avoid provocative actions and rhetoric and to contribute to calm and stability.

"We join NATO and EU Allies in strongly condemning the stun grenade attack on a EULEX patrol last night. Any such attack is unacceptable and those responsible must be held accountable.

The KFOR mission remains extremely alert and fully capable of carrying it out under the UN mandate in Kosovo. We call on all parties to avoid provocative actions and rhetoric and contribute to calm and stability," writes Lungescu.
