Tensions increase/ Bomb attack on the EULEX patrol in the north

A bomb was thrown against a EULEX observation patrol yesterday evening, near Rudare, this mission announces.

"No official of the EULEX Specialized Police Unit was injured and no material damage was caused," the press release states.

KFOR and EULEX are monitoring the situation in the north of the country.

EULEX announcement:

We confirm that a stun bomb (shock bomb) was thrown against a EULEX surveillance patrol last evening (10.12) near Rudare. No official of the EULEX Specialized Police Unit was injured and no material damage was caused.

This attack, as well as attacks on police officers of the Kosovo Police, are unacceptable. We strongly condemn the violent acts committed by armed persons in the northern part of Kosovo, including against the international community.

EULEX will continue to work with determination to support the stability of Kosovo, within the mandate it has, as well as to contribute to the safety of the population from all communities.

We appeal to all those who are responsible to refrain from other provocative actions, and we call on the institutions of Kosovo to bring the perpetrators to justice.
