Crushing defeat for SYRIZA, Tsipras congratulates Mitsotakis for victory!

The head of SYRIZA in Greece , Alexis Tsipras, has accepted defeat and congratulated his New Democracy rival,  Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on his victory.

Tsipras arrived at the party headquarters around 9:00 p.m. Although with a poor result, he was received with applause by his supporters.

Meanwhile, when 71% of the ballot boxes were counted, Prime Minister Mitsotakis' New Democracy got 40.83%, while SYRIZA got 20.7%.

The third electoral force is PASOK/Change Movement with a percentage of 11.82%, followed by KKE with 7.09% and Hellenic Solution with 4.5%.
