The first results of the "exit polls" have been released after the end of the voting process in Greece, where the citizens will decide on the new government.
According to the joint exit poll, the New Democracy of current Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to receive between 36% and 40%. While Tsipras' SYRIZA is moving at much lower levels from 25% to 29%.
PASOK/Movement for Change emerges as the third force with a percentage from 9.5% to 12.5%
New Democracy - 36.00%-40.00% - 121 deputies
SYRIZA - 25.00-29.00% - 86 deputies
PASOK- 9.5-12.00% -35 deputies
KKE - 6.00-8.00% - 22 deputies
Elliniki Lisi Greek Solution - 3.5-5.5% - 15 MPs
Mera 25 - 2.5% - 4.5% - 11 deputies
Plevsi Eleftherias Zoi Konstantopoulou - 2-3% - 10 deputies
Immediately after the announcement of the exit polls, leaders of New Democracy said: "We are waiting for the official results".
Then if the ruling New Democracy party does not form a coalition, there may be a SYRIZA-PASOK-MERA25 government or with the KKE.
So Greece is very likely to be headed for a second round of elections a few weeks later.
