Donald Trump Jr., the son of US President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., held a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic three days ago in Belgrade.
During that meeting, Trump Jr. invited Vučić to his podcast, at the beginning of which he describes Serbia as a state that stands for sovereignty and secure borders and shows Serbia's location on the map of Europe, showing a map where Kosovo is part of Serbia.
Further, he also touches on the topic of the NATO bombing campaign, where he takes for granted a conspiracy theory that was circulating at the time.
Donald Trump Jr. believes that NATO's bombing of Serbia during the recent war in Kosovo was purely intended to distract public attention from the scandal between former US President Bill Clinton and a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.
“Tensions in Kosovo, an ethnic Albanian region of Serbia, escalated into open conflict in 1998. NATO then bombed Serbia in 1999, which resulted in the withdrawal of Serbian troops from Kosovo. This came at the height of the scandal between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. And many people, especially now after a period of reflection, many see this bombing as a distraction from that failure for Bill Clinton ,” Trump Jr. said.
