Tragedy in Kosovo / These are the two students who lost their lives in the
Accident in Kosovo

Two girls lost their lives after being injured in a traffic accident that occurred today at around 10:00 on the Domoroc-Hodonoc road, in the municipality of Ranilug, Kosovo. Another person was injured, but survived.

Initially, the accident was reported as a self-inflicted accident, but after police analyzed security cameras, it was revealed to be a rear-end accident between a vehicle and a truck.

Police spokesman for the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, confirmed that the accident is suspected to have occurred as a result of an unsafe turn by the truck driver.

According to Hashani, investigations have shown that the truck's maneuver obstructed the movement of the vehicle that was in the process of overtaking, causing the driver of the vehicle to lose control.

The girls who died are Arbnora Basha and Antiana Thaqi who were students at the "Kadri Zeka" University in Gjilan.

The university responded with a message of condolence:

With deep pain and sorrow, we received the news of the tragic passing of Faculty of Education students Arbnora Basha and Antiana Thaqi.

"Kadri Zeka" Public University in Gjilan shares the pain with your families, relatives, colleagues and friends for this severe and untimely loss.

Arbnora Basha, a distinguished student and Chair of the Faculty of Education Council, left behind a legacy of commitment, dedication, and the example of a dedicated student. Likewise, the loss of Antiana Thaqi has left a great void among the academic community and her colleagues.

Arbnora and Antiana will remain in our minds and memories as smart girls and distinguished students, with all the characteristics.

This great loss shattered their dream of the journey they had embarked on.

This grave tragedy has touched us all and left us speechless. We will always remember them with respect and gratitude for their contribution and unfulfilled dreams.

On behalf of the Public University "Kadri Zeka" in Gjilan and on my own behalf, we extend our condolences and stand by you in these difficult moments.
