Tragedy strikes the world of football. German defender Sebastian Hertner, captain of the Etsv Hamburg team, lost his life after falling from a height of 70 m on a cable car during the winter holidays in Montenegro.
Hertner was in Savin Kuk when the cable car cabin he was in suddenly broke apart, falling down with the footballer, who had no chance of escape.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that our captain, Sebastian Hertner, lost his life in a tragic accident while on vacation. We are shocked and deeply saddened. Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace, Sebastian," the Etsv Hamburg club, which plays in the fifth division of German football, wrote on social media.
According to the information I have, the cable car cabin broke away from the cable, hitting the back and causing the footballer to fall from a height of about 70 m, with Hertner losing his life instantly. His wife was with him, also a victim of the accident and who received help a few hours later.
The woman suffered a fractured leg from the shock, while the plant was immediately shut down and Montenegrin authorities launched an investigation to find those responsible for this tragic accident.
