A serious and unprecedented incident of violence has shaken Albanian football during the Flamurtari–Teuta match, held in Vlora, where players from the Durrës team were physically attacked by local fans.
In an official statement, KF Teuta announced that in the 69th minute of the match, players Muço Boçi and Mario Beshiraj were punched, first by Flamurtari players and then by fans who invaded the pitch. According to the Durrës club, the violent episode put the players in a state of psychological shock, making it impossible to continue the match normally.
However, Teuta expresses surprise and indignation at the decision of the match delegate, Armando Mandro, who demanded that the game continue, asking the police only to empty the front stand (C), without taking stronger measures for the violence that occurred.
According to the statement, Teuta's management and staff insisted that the team was unable to resume play due to the psychological gravity of the event, but despite this, the delegate decided that the match should continue.
"The match turned into hell and the players were not ready to play football," the club's response states, adding that Teuta agreed to continue the game only after the delegate's order, although he was against this decision.
KF Teuta emphasizes that it also has additional footage, where according to them, Flamurtari fans did not leave the stadium, but moved to the stands behind the goal, again endangering safety.
The club calls on the Albanian Football Association to take action regarding this serious event, to fully clarify its dynamics and to guarantee that such scenes are not repeated, as, according to Teuta, they severely tarnish Albanian football.
