Two women were arrested in Colombia for trying to smuggle cocaine hidden in their hair extensions, the Defense Ministry said.

The ladies, who used the extensions to create thin, curly hairstyles, were stopped at two separate airports in the South American country, authorities said.

They were traveling to Madrid, Spain, and were stopped after going through security when a body scan showed foreign objects hidden in their hair, Col. Carlos Alberto Potes said.
