New images of US President Donald Trump's hand, where a part covered in makeup is seen, have gone viral on social media in recent days.

The photos were taken on August 22 during an appearance in the Oval Office, prompting numerous speculations on the reasons for using makeup.

This Monday, during the meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, a bruise on the right hand of the head of the White House was also noticed in the official photos.

This detail comes after statements in July, when the White House announced that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition related to blood circulation. Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt emphasized on July 17 that the diagnosis came after tests performed due to swelling of the legs and bruise marks on the hand.

White House doctor Sean Barbabella described the condition as "benign and common", adding that the scars on the president's hand are linked to minor tissue irritations as a result of frequent hand shakes and the use of aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.

"President Trump remains in very good health," the memo released by Barbabella said.

This is not the first time that photos of Trump's hands have prompted public comment. In February, during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Washington, a similar situation was observed, while also on July 27 in Scotland, during the meeting with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, photos showed visible marks on his hand.

Experts point out that chronic venous insufficiency is common for those over 70 years old and that in Trump's case there are no signs of more serious problems such as venous thrombosis, arterial disease or heart failure.

Trump, who celebrated his 79th birthday on June 14, is the oldest president to start a term in U.S. history.
