Ukraine has introduced a new missile with a range of up to 1 thousand kilometers, significantly increasing its capacity to hit targets deep on Russian territory.
The missile, called the "Long Neptune", first appeared in a video released on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day by the Zbroya ("Weapon") military platform, Defense Express reported.
Footage suggests that the new rocket has a length of about 6 meters - so about 1.5 meters more than the standard version - as well as being 12 centimeters wider in diameter, changes related to the need for greater fuel capacity.
Unlike the original version of the Neptune, which was primarily designed for anti-ship warfare and received worldwide attention after the sinking of the Russian ship Moskva in 2022, the new "Long Neptune" variant is manufactured to hit ground targets.
This development is seen as an important step in Kiev's efforts to produce domestic long-range weapons, at a time when Western supplies face political delays and constraints.
