Vladimir Putin

This photo shows Vladimir Putin in Beijing accompanied by Russian officers carrying a so-called nuclear briefcase that could be used to order a nuclear attack .

After a meeting with Xi Jinping , the Chinese leader, Putin was seen walking to another meeting surrounded by security and followed by two uniformed Russian navy officials, each carrying a briefcase.

Russia's nuclear briefcase, known as " Cheget " after Mount Cheget in the Caucasus Mountains , is traditionally carried by a naval officer and is with the president at all times, but is rarely filmed or photographed.
