The harsh rhetoric between Turkey and Greece does not stop with direct threats, although both countries are members of NATO.
During a recent media appearance, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated his call to official Athens not to mess with Turkey in the Aegean Sea.
"We have no problem with Greece as long as it does not get confused with Turkey in the Aegean. We tested the Tayfun missile. How far is Tayfun? 561 kilometers. What did the Greeks do? They were worried. Newspapers immediately wrote headlines: "They will hit Athens", Erdogan said during a ceremony in Antalya.
Turkey test-fired its domestically produced Tayfun short-range ballistic missile in October. The missile can hit a target at a distance of 561 kilometers in just 456 seconds.
