The wounding of two Serbs in the village of Drajkovc in Shtërpce, a municipality inhabited by a majority of Serbs in the Prizren area, has again brought tensions to Kosovo. The Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, said that in the case that happened in Shtërpce, where two people were injured, a member of the KSF was involved.

According to the police report, at around 15:20 on January 6, two people, one about 11 years old and the other about 21 years old, were shot by suspects, who were in a moving vehicle, who were circulated from Shtërpca in the direction of Ferizaj. According to the police, the car then left the scene. Regarding the case, the Kosovo Police identified and then arrested the 33-year-old suspect with the initials AK. The suspect was escorted to the Ferizaj Regional Police

Journalist Blerta Dalloshi Berisha, in a television interview, provided more details about the event.

"The motives that led to the attack where two young Serbs were injured by a moving car are still unknown. It is learned that the suspect immediately notified the police and the police arrested him in record time. However, in the meantime, the roads Shtërpcë-Ferizaj and Shtërpcë-Brezovica have been blocked by the Serbs, demanding his arrest. The injured received minor injuries and are out of danger."

"The Minister of Defense has also reacted, confirming that the suspect is a member of the Kosovo Security Force, while inviting the justice authorities to deal with the case. The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, also reacted, saying that the person who shot at them should be brought to justice, while he wished the injured a speedy recovery. The office for Kosovo in the government of Serbia also reacted, calling this injury ethnically motivated.

European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi has reacted to the wounding of two young Serbs in Kosovo.

Through a post on Twitter, Varhelyi says that he is shocked by the attack on children in Shtërpce. He emphasizes that there is no justification for violence, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
