A dispute between neighbors degenerated into tragedy yesterday evening in San Polo, a village in Arezzo.

According to the investigations, a 57-year-old man of Albanian origin, riding an excavator, attacked his neighbor's apartment and destroyed the side of the wall.

The Italian owner, 53 years old, reacted by shooting with a shotgun several times, four of which hit him, killing the Albanian. Stopped by the police, the Italian was arrested for murder and sent to prison.

According to witnesses, the two had been arguing for some time for reasons that are still unclear.

Yesterday evening around 8:30 p.m., while the arrested person was then in the company of some family members, the Albanian started maneuvering with an excavator in the square and then hit and damaged the cars of the "rival" and three of his other relatives.

He then directed the excavator towards the wall and roof of the apartment, breaking a part of the wall. The 53-year-old man who was watching from the window took the rifle and killed the Albanian on the spot.
