Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sharply criticized Israel for the airstrike that hit a hospital in the Gaza Strip this evening, killing more than 500 people.

"Striking a hospital where there are women, children and innocent civilians is the latest example of Israel's attacks without basic human values," Erdogan said in a post on X.

"I call on all humanity to take action to stop Israel's unprecedented brutality in Gaza," he added.

Over 500 people were killed at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu.

Footage showed corpses scattered around the hospital grounds. The Palestinian group Hamas called Israel's attack on a hospital an act of "genocide".
