Erdogan: There is no difference between the actions of Hitler and Netanyahu
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

"There is no difference between what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing in the months-long attacks on Gaza and what Nazi leader Adolf Hitler did decades ago," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.

"How do you (Netanyahu) differ from Hitler? These (actions) will surpass even Hitler. Is there anything Netanyahu does that is less than Hitler? No," Erdoğan said, speaking at an awards ceremony in the fields of science in the capital Ankara.

He said that just like 80 years ago in Nazi Germany, scientists around the world who have the courage to condemn the oppression and persecution in Gaza face pressure and threats, referring to the dismissal of academic staff in the US and other countries for the support of the Palestinians.

For scientists facing pressure to protect human dignity in Gaza, the doors of Turkish universities are open to them, Erdoğan said.

"We realized that institutions that talk a lot and spend big budgets are completely empty when it comes to Israel and its atrocities," said President Erdoğan, adding:

"From the UN Security Council to journalistic organizations, from the EU to journalistic groups, all the institutions that serve as apostles of democracy have failed (due to Israel's attacks on Gaza).

Not only international organizations, but also prestigious Western universities have failed in the Gaza issue, Erdoğan added.
