The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has criticized the "help" that, according to him, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is seeking from the United States "against Turkey".
In the speech before the meeting of the European Political Community in Prague, Erdogan said that regardless of what Greece does, Turkey will do "what is necessary".
"The Greek Prime Minister asks for help from the USA. Against what? Against Turkey. Whatever you do, we will always do whatever it takes. We are ready to do this," said the Turkish president.
He hit back at accusations that Greece is "suffocating people" in the Aegean and Mediterranean, saying no one is reacting.
"We are watching how Greek ships drown innocent people in the Aegean and the Mediterranean. Has the world evaporated?” he said.
