Dozens of experts have backed a statement published on the Center for AI Security's website.

"Mitigating the risk of extinction of humanity from artificial intelligence should be a global priority alongside other risks on a societal scale such as pandemics and nuclear war," the statement said .

Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind and Dario Amodei of Anthropic have supported the statement.
