Former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj today demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti after the riots that have been happening for several days in the north of Kosovo, after the swearing in of the three Albanian mayors in Leposavič, Zubin Potok and Zveçan.
This statement by Ramush Haradinaj comes after the USA canceled NATO's "Defender Europe 2023" exercises for Kosovo as the first consequence for the Kurti government, as well as after the statement of the American ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier that the USA does not have much enthusiasm to react to some of Kosovo's interests, such as engagement with unrecognized countries, or active work to advance Kosovo on the Euro-Atlantic path.
According to Ramush Haradinaj, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani have turned Kosovo back 10 years. He further adds that countries invest decades to create friendships and alliances and that in the case of Kosovo, an Albin Kurti appears and tries to overthrow all of them.
"Albin Kurti and Vjosa Osmani have been in power for less than three years, they have not left success without turning it upside down. They have turned Kosovo back ten years in such a short time.
The exclusion of Kosovo from the NATO exercise "Defender Europe 2023" is an alarm for our national security. You must be very short-sighted to be hostile to the entire democratic world at this delicate time?
States invest decades in building friendships and alliances. In our case, an Albin Kurti appears and tries to overthrow them. There have been others in our history who wanted to overthrow these alliances, but Kosovo has been bigger than their smallness and has triumphed. She has no other alternative but to triumph this time.
The people of Kosovo, who are the most pro-Western people of the continent, will know how to protect their friends and their orientation. Albin Kurti is too young to change the orientation of Kosovo and its people.
He has only one chance, once in his life to do something good for Kosovo! Resign today!" he declared.
