Terrifying moments were recorded at a bar in Lima, Peru, where singer Carlos Suarez was electrocuted during a live concert. The incident occurred as he grabbed the microphone to introduce the band Mi Major Amigo Scott.
In video footage released from the concert, Suarez is seen taking the microphone, but instead of speaking, he begins to scream in pain and then collapses on the stage. Spectators near the stage can be heard screaming, as the situation caused panic among those present.
Thanks to the quick response of a sound engineer and a musician from another band, who immediately unplugged the microphone cable, the singer's life was saved. Suarez was rushed to hospital, where he was treated for burns.
The singer then reassured his fans and friends via an Instagram video, stating that his life was out of danger. He explained that the electric shock paralyzed him for about seven seconds and that the microphone fell on his neck, causing two first-degree burns.
"What happened could have had fatal consequences, but fortunately I'm fine. I have some burns on my neck, but I don't have any other health complications," Suarez said. He described the incident as a very traumatic experience and stressed that he wants such incidents to never happen again, so that no other artist goes through what he experienced.
