Truss resignation, Macron: Britain must find stability ASAP
Emmanuel Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron reacted immediately after the resignation of the British Prime Minister, Liz Truss.

Foreign media report that Macron said it is important for the United Kingdom to find "stability as soon as possible".

"We want, above all, stability. On a personal level, I'm always sad when I see a colleague leave," Macron said after his arrival at the European Union summit in Brussels.

Liz Truss has resigned as Prime Minister after only 45 days in office.

Truss will be the shortest-serving prime minister in UK history.
