"I researched the hidden history of the Brussels sewage system and the role of sewage in global health," wrote Microsoft founder Bill Gates on the X social network.
Gates decided to take this step on the occasion of World Toilet Day, which was held 3 days ago.
He descended into the sewers of Brussels to investigate its hidden history.
He also published a video on Instagram, where he showed parts of the underground labyrinth and the Black Water Museum exhibits.
Exhibits and documents documenting the history of the city's sewage system, which ended up in the Seine River in the 1800s, are housed in the aforementioned museum.
