Video of New Zealand MP tears up bill and performs ritual to honor her

New Zealand's youngest MP, 21-year-old Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, who made history as the youngest MP in 170 years, sang and performed the Haka Maori rite in Parliament, as she herself comes from the community Maori.

In her speech, the MP, while tearing up a copy of the Indigenous Treaty Bill, promised her commitment to the voters, saying: "I will die for you, I will live for you".

Maipi-Clarke does not see herself as a conventional politician, rather she sees her role as steward of the language, land and traditional wisdom of the indigenous Maori people.

10 days after this oath, the deputy became viral everywhere on the network with the interpretation of "haka Maori".
