Japan Airlines plane suffers cyberattack, flight suspensions warned

A Japan Airlines plane has suffered a cyberattack, as a result of which they have announced delays and that flight cancellations are also not ruled out.

"We can confirm that we have suffered a cyber attack and are dealing with the situation," a spokeswoman for Japan's second-largest carrier said, foreign media reported.

According to the company, the attack affected both internal and external IT systems. The cyberattack on JAL follows a series of similar actions that have previously targeted public institutions or large companies in the Asian country.

It is also reiterated that even at the end of 2023, the Japanese space agency (JAXA) announced that it had suffered a cyberattack.
