Sunday's events in the north of Kosovo, where the policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed, have shocked not only the country but also beyond.

Regarding these events, the mayor of Presheva, Shqiprim Arifi, said that they are disturbing and that Serbia and Russia are behind them.

"The developments in the north of Kosovo are disturbing and I am personally stressed by what I saw with great evidence that it was not just a self-planned attack but an organized group of terrorists with large weapons equipment that planned a process long military escalation in the north of Kosovo. Normally, we who had the UÇPMB war in 2001 and normally for us these are disturbing and remind us of the time when the conflict on our doorstep happened to us and normally with what we have seen yesterday and the day before there is the fear in the Presheva Valley among the Albanians that something like this could happen again to us. This development is not at all welcome to us and absolutely to be condemned the murder that happened but also the act as an act which happened in an organized manner,

Furthermore, he said that there is a fear that such an attack could also happen in the Presheva Valley.

"The situation in the Valley after the events in the north is in tension because we do not know what is happening, we know Serbia, we have been living with them for 30 years and they discriminate against us, they continue to passivize our addresses. We know Serbia and we know that they can be great avengers, we are afraid that such an organization can also happen in the Valley", concluded Shqiprim Arifi.
