The social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has the highest percentage of disinformation of the six major social networks, according to a study by the European Commission.

The study examined over 6,000 unique social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X and YouTube.

This study analyzed content in three countries considered particularly vulnerable to disinformation, Spain, Poland and Slovakia.

EU Commissioner for Values ​​and Transparency Vera Jourova warned Elon Musk's company.

“My message to [X] is: you must comply with the strict law. We will be watching what you are doing," she said.

The platform with the highest "discoverability ratio" of misinformation, meaning the percentage of sensitive content made up of misinformation, was Twitter.

YouTube had the lowest, the study said.

Since taking the helm of Twitter, Elon Musk has removed restrictions on several well-known American personalities considered to be close to the far right, causing much controversy. It is also reported that well-known Russian propagandists have access and post freely on Twitter, although in their country, this social network is banned by the government.
