The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti in an interview for the Greek newspaper 'Kathimerini' says that the border between Albania and Kosovo "is not ours", but established by Yugoslavia.
Kurti defends full recognition of Kosovo and membership in the EU and NATO even without reaching a Serbia-Kosovo agreement.
At the same time, he does not hide his aspiration to see Kosovo peacefully united with Albania and does not see any concern about bringing stability to his policies.
"We are a nation and it is impossible for us to forget that the border between Serbia and Albania has been set by Serbia and Yugoslavia," said Kurti.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo underlined that if Serbs attack Kosovo, they do not react only as Kosovo, but react as the Albanian people.
Moscow has often drawn parallels between Ukraine and Kosovo, but for Kurti they are two very different things.
"It is a false comparison to compare Crimea with Kosovo. Putin and Vucic talked about double standards and international hypocrisy where the Serbian president showed on the map the northern part of Kosovo where the Serb minority lives. Why did he have to do this? "Then we are in danger," he said.
Kurti says that he is the Prime Minister of Kosovo and not of the Albanians, so he will not allow any Kosovo Serb to be harmed because of his nationality.
The head of Kosovo's biggest concern is the potential spread of the Ukraine war to the Western Balkans.
Kurti says there are three other countries where the Kremlin could potentially provoke conflict, referring to Moldova, Georgia and the Western Balkans.
"So I am worried about our region and practically my country. In 2012, there were only two joint military activities between Serbia and Russia. In 2016, 50, and last year 100 ", said Kurti.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo added that he does not know how real there is a possibility that the conflict will escalate, but added that Putin is being closed the way to salvation and this makes it even more dangerous.
