The Basic Prosecutor's Office of Pristina is investigating a group on social networks in which personal data of women as well as their explicit photos and videos are distributed.

In this group, which has about 100,000 users, intimate pictures of underage girls are also wanted.

Nearly 100,000 Albanian users, mostly with men's names, have come together with a purpose in a group called " Albkings " on the Nicegram social network, within Telegram.

In this group, explicit photos and videos are distributed mainly of girls and women, personal data such as phone number, place of residence and accounts in social networks.


The materials that are distributed are also of girls under the age of 18, and in some cases users have expressed their fear of the Police for this action.

Regarding the case, KOHA has asked the Police, but they have not returned an answer if they are investigating the case, while the Basic Prosecutor's Office of Pristina indicated that they are investigating this case.

"Regarding your request, we inform you that we are dealing with this issue", said Laureta Ulaj, spokesperson of the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina.

KOHA has tried to contact some of the girls whose personal data was shared. Some of them, on condition of anonymity, said that their personal data was shared without their consent.

"It is not the first time that they have shared my photos. There were also three cases of nude photos, in which I was not, but they claimed to be. In case they don't find material for the specific person, they create and distribute sometimes fake, sometimes not. Personally, I have a friend who had fake nude photos shared and she has closed all social networks because of this phenomenon", said 24-year-old VR.

"They used my photo because I sent it to a boy, but I posted that photo 2 years ago and deleted it within a week. It means that there was a lot of contrast and for that I experienced it very hard. I did not personally report the case to the Police, but a relative of mine did", said 18-year-old UD.

Recently, in this group, the contact of a member of the Government's cabinet was distributed, where then the users of the group misused it by addressing her with messages and calls. 

Krenare Sogojeva-Dermaku, commissioner of the Information and Privacy Agency, said that they have not received any complaints on this issue. According to her, they cooperate with the justice bodies for such abuses.

"This is not a simple crime, but it is a criminal offense and the same should be dealt with by the responsible bodies in the country. The agency does not handle these cases at its administrative level, but directs them directly to the Police or the Prosecutor's Office", said Sogojeva-Dermaku.

The cybernetic expert, Tanzer Abazi, says that the reason why the Telegram social network was chosen for the exchange of messages is because it offers conditions of anonymity.

According to him, not every information that is distributed in the group is true.

"It is very difficult for law enforcement bodies to identify these people, because of the anonymity and the possibility that technology gives to hide. I'm not saying it's impossible, but simply if "hackers" or "cybercriminals" have taken all the parameters to preserve anonymity, then it should be almost impossible to identify who does this," said Abazi.

About 30 thousand photos and 20 thousand videos are distributed in this group, the " Albkings " group has been active since November 2022.
