A serious case of domestic violence has shocked Lavrion in Greece . 

A 23-year-old mother of one child and in her sixth month of pregnancy, claims that for years she has faced violence, threats and harassment from her ex-partner of Albanian origin.

In her testimony to Newsbomb, the young woman says that during the relationship she was a victim of physical violence and life threats from the 31-year-old.

According to her, her ex-partner punched and kicked her, dragged her by the hair, and episodes of violence occurred even when she was holding the child in her arms.

The young woman also stated that after one of the episodes she was taken to the Lavrio Health Center, and was threatened not to reveal the real cause of her injuries, but said that she had fallen down the stairs.

After the separation, she says she filed a domestic violence report and that restrictive measures were imposed on her ex-partner, including a 50-meter restraining order. However, according to her, the phone calls, threats, and harassment continued.

The situation, according to the 23-year-old's testimony, escalated during a recent incident at a playground in Lavrio, where their child was also present. According to her, her ex-partner appeared tense, shouted and made threats, alarming the people present there. Passers-by notified the police, while the 31-year-old fled the scene.

Following this incident, Greek authorities have issued a search warrant and he is being sought by police. The 23-year-old, who is in her sixth month of pregnancy, says that constant stress has affected her condition during the pregnancy.

 She emphasizes that after the latest incident she was taken to an Athens hospital for an emergency check-up.

The young woman also claims that in 2024, when she sought help from the police, an officer told her to return to her husband. She is asking the authorities to investigate the violence, threats, harassment and violation of restrictive measures, as well as to guarantee her and the children's safety./ newsbomb.gr
