Eraldo Fizi, the former partner who allegedly abused Xhuana Nikollaj, pushing her to her death, turned himself in to the Police three days ago, more than six months after the incident and the announcement of the wanted person.

Xhuana, on March 10, 2026, consumed fostoxin and died at the QSUT, while the Tirana Court issued the security measure "arrest in prison", as a suspect for the criminal offense of "Causing suicide".

According to new evidence administered in the file, the conflict between Xhuana and Eraldo began after an excursion organized by the school where she worked, on March 7 and 8, in Berat.

Her roommate, Aurela Hasanaj, stated that during the excursion, Xhuana suspected that Eraldo had followed her. At the hotel, according to Aurela, Xhuana had told her that her partner was texting her and had asked her if he was provoking her or if he had really followed her.

On March 9, Eraldo contacted Aurela and asked her to meet with him and Xhuana to clarify the situation regarding the excursion. The meeting took place at around 8:30 PM near the apartment where Xhuana and Aurela were renting. After the conversation, Aurela left and Xhuana stayed with Eraldo.

At around 03:10 on March 10, Eraldo called Aurela and asked her to open the door to the building, as Xhuana did not have a key. According to her testimony, he told her: “Take care of her.”

When Xhuana entered the apartment, Aurela states that she noticed marks on her face, around her eyes, and on her hands. Xhuana did not tell her what had happened and asked her not to bother anyone, according to the file obtained by Boldnews.al.

In the early hours of the morning, Xhuana contacted her sister, Klodina Nikollaj. According to the latter's testimony, at around 03:30 she wrote to her on WhatsApp and told her that she had been picked up by Eraldo Fizi in a car and taken to Rana e Hedhun, in Shëngjin, where she had been raped.

In messages to her sister, Xhuana wrote that she had done nothing wrong and that she had been hit “with fists and slaps.” She also wrote: “I’ve had enough, I’m sick of it.” She then sent Klodina a photo where, according to the testimony, signs of violence were visible on her face.

A little later, Juana asked her sister to take care of her father, while Klodina states that she advised her to report the incident to the police. According to her, Juana was afraid for her father and worried that Eraldo might do something to him.

In the morning hours of March 10, the situation worsened. According to family members, Xhuana was no longer answering her phone calls. At around 09:07, she announced that she had consumed fostoxin. The police were notified and she was taken to the QSUT, but despite medical assistance, she passed away.

The testimony of the other sister, Silvana Kaleshi, was also administered in the file. She stated that Xhuana and Eraldo had separated in 2025 and that after the separation Xhuana had moved to Tirana, where she had started a new life and job. According to Silvana, during this period Eraldo constantly contacted her and sent her messages and videos, telling her that he would sacrifice himself if she did not return with him.

The testimonies of family members and friends are part of the evidence administered by the prosecution, along with video footage, telephone communications and other materials seized during the investigation. According to the file, security camera footage matches the schedules given by Aurela Hasanaj for her movements on the night of March 9.

The court has assessed that the evidence administered at this stage creates reasonable suspicion for the criminal offense of "Causing suicide" and has remanded Eraldo Fizi in the security measure of "prison arrest". The investigation continues to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
