As lawyers continue their boycott in response to the censorious regulation of the GJKKO, former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, has appeared before the Special Court for the process of the 'SASPAC' file.
He is under house arrest after the expiration of the pre-trial detention period for cases still under investigation, which led to the court's decision to release him from prison.
SPAK accuses Beqaj of passive corruption, violation of equality in tenders, forgery of documents, fraud with serious consequences, fraud in collaboration, and failure to declare and conceal assets.
According to the prosecution, Beqaj, in collaboration with Ermal Kurtulaj, whom he himself had appointed, ordered fictitious procurement procedures, worth hundreds of thousands of euros, to various companies for unperformed services, and the final beneficiary was the former minister himself through the Gzona Restaurant in Tirana, which SPAK says is owned by him.
