The number of lawsuits submitted to SPAK against Ilir Meta has reached four, where three were submitted in the last months and one is carried over from the former Serious Crimes Prosecutor's Office.

Common to all lawsuits is corruption. The first issue is the CEZ-DIA affair, where Meta was sued together with Sali Berisha. This is the only file that brings them together and is considered the hottest file of the Special Prosecutor's Office.

The lawsuit was filed in 2017 by the lawyer Romeo Kara. That there were scandals with the CEZ-DIA affair was confirmed by the Tirana Court, because the head of the DIA was sentenced to prison, but no politician ended up in justice.

At that time, two lawsuits were filed, one for the privatization of OSSH by CEZ and one for the CEZ-DIA pact for arrears. The privatization file was dismissed by the prosecutor, while the good thing about the CEZ-DIA file is that it is in the archive of SPAK and it is not known what will happen.

At that time, ERE reduced the price of energy for the Czech company, CEZ. The latter sold to the citizens more expensively and earned millions. According to Karaj, 10 million euros were requested from this favor. He also mentioned a suitcase with money.

In June of this year, ex-MP Halit Valteri filed a criminal report with SPAK against Ilir Meta, the chairperson of LSI, Monika Kryemadhi and ex-MP Vangjel Tavo. He accuses them of active and passive corruption in the private sector, concealment of wealth, failure to pay taxes and duties, and abuse of office.

“Petrit Vasili dhe Edmond Panariti, dhe çifti Meta Kryemadhi, për skemën e lobimit, është Elona Guri, Muharrem Berisha biznesmen, kanë kryer veprën penale të shpërdorimit të detyrën dhe fshehje të të ardhurave”, thuhet në kallëzim.

Kallëzimi penal nga Valteri ishte pas investigimit të gazetës austriake, “Kronen Zeitung”, e cila akuzoi se Ilir Meta pagoi 700,000 mijë dollarë për lobim përmes një kompanie , që të siguronte një foto në ceremoninë e inaugurimit të Presidentit Amerikan Donald Trump.

Padia e fundit është dorëzuar nga Avokati Idajet Beqiri. Ky i fundit ka depozituar këtë të enjte në SPAK dosjen me pretendimin e korrupsionit, pastrimit të parave dhe fshehjes së pasurisë.

Sipas avokatit, anëtarët e familjes Meta kanë marrë një sërë trajtimesh estetike në një klinikë në San Marino, shumë të kushtueshme. Po sipas tij, vetëm një nga ndërhyrjet estetike të Monika Kryemadhit ka kushtuar mbi 280 000 euro dhe është paguar nga një llogari bankare “offshore” në Qipro.

All these reports have in common the accusation of corruption, which is practiced by high officials, the law foresees the punishment of several years in prison. Will Meta end up behind bars? With four files in the Prosecutor's Office, it's hard to say no.
