Miner crashes at Albchrome mine

The United Miners of The Bulqiza union announced on Tuesday that a 54-year-old miner was accidentally killed in the Albchrome mines.

According to the accident union, there is still miner Ben Stafa, who as she says in the announcement has lost her toes. The union accuses the Albchrome company of trying to keep the event secret so as not to go to the media.

"As is already the case, this accident has been attempted to be kept secret. The news has not been made public by either the state police or the media. This continued practice of devaluation of workers' health and life is punishable," the union statement said.

This is a repeated case of accidents in Albanian mining, where experts blame their exploitation outside the criteria, lack of investment for security and lack of compliance with technical conditions on the part of companies.

At least 11 accidents have been denounced by the United Union of Bullqiza Miners, which occurred in the past year alone in the Albchrome mines. Until September last year, in three cases accidents were fatal, causing three deaths, while in other cases miners suffered life-saving injuries.

The Albchrome company was under the ownership of Samir Manes until the end of last year, when he sold it to the Turks of the Yildirim group.
