Today, Sali Berisha and Ilir Metaj signed the electoral agreement for the May 14 local elections.

But this agreement has not been well received by the Americans.

A diplomatic source told Vox News that the US will cut off communication with the Freedom Party and Ilir Metajn, due to cooperation with a person who is 'non grata' from the United States of America.

Since the departure of Ilir Metaj as President of the Republic, the American Embassy has held several meetings with him, to have opportunities for cooperation, but on the condition that he was not in alliance with Sali Berisha.

In both diplomatic and direct forms, the Americans have asked Metaj to avoid any kind of support or cooperation with Sali Berisha.

This request was also made to Berisha's other allies, who were also warned of sanctions if they do not withdraw from cooperation with a person declared 'non grata'.

In order to be practical, the USA has refused a visa to Shpëtim Idrizi until the moment that he will not have an alliance with Berisha.

Today's alliance between Metaj and Berisha has not been well received even by the British embassy.

The same source informed that in the future the two embassies in Tirana will have a position to oppose the alliance of the Berisha-Metaj duo.

An official in the Freedom Party, asked about this attitude of the Americans, told Vox News that "Metaj has weighed both options and since he was drowned, he chose better to drown in a boat with the Doctor".

This morning the two leaders of the opposition parties signed an agreement, which can be undone on November 3 when the court's decision regarding the Democratic party is given.

In the 6-point agreement, the two allies already in opposition agree to offer Albania a winning alternative in the local elections of May 14, 2023, which represents, according to them, only the interests of citizens and the highest public interest.

In the signed agreement, the parties agree that the competition for Mayors will be conducted with joint candidates, who are decided by the results of the competition in the primary, while the Municipal Councils, as the most important institutions of citizen representation, will be led by representatives proposed by the Freedom Party, in cases where the latter's councilors are decisive in securing the majority in these councils.
