3 million euros for private guards, AKSHI increases security measures after the
Mirlinda Karçanaj, director of AKSHI

The National Agency for the Information Society has announced today a giant tender for the physical storage service of its premises in Tirana, at a time when the institution is in the spotlight following the news of the disappearance of former deputy director Daniel Shima.

According to documents consulted by  Skyweb.al, the object of the contract is the provision of private security guards in 16 locations, for a period of two years.

The announced limit fund is around 3 million euros including VAT, at the current exchange rate.

Calculations show that for the entire 24-month period, a site will cost an average of 17.8 million lek, while the monthly payment for each guard amounts to around 741 thousand lek.

The AKSHI has long been known for its large expenditures in the field of information technology, as well as for practices where certain companies have preferentially benefited from public tenders. This latest expenditure, seemingly extremely high just for the maintenance of the facility, seems to follow the same line of spending that has characterized the institution over the years.

The tender was announced just a few days after the news of the 10-hour disappearance of former deputy director of AKSHI, Daniel Shima.

He was later found, with media reports stating that he had voluntarily left. However, there was no shortage of speculation about the real reasons for his disappearance, including reports of "visits" to Shijak and Borsh./skyweb.al
