The court hearing against Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj has been postponed to October 27th due to the lack of lawyers.

For their absence, the court has fined the lawyers 100 thousand new lek each.

SPAK, with the request filed by Altin Dumani, requested that Veliaj's trial be held without lawyers as long as they do not appear.

The court appointed lawyers from the list of free legal aid lawyers.

"Defense is a right. Looking at the behavior of the defendants and lawyers, we believe that the Court should consider the possibility of considering their behavior as a waiver of this right and continuing the trial without a lawyer. The Court of Appeal has such a precedent, where it has reviewed cases without a lawyer," said Altin Dumani.
